A note from Gina Grillo, CEO & President of the Advertising Club of New York:
Last week the ADVERTISING Club of New York launched a movement to raise awareness for a very important issue that has affected our industry for decades… inclusion and diversity of thought.
I want to thank everyone who has participated in the very successful launch of the AD Club’s i’mPART campaign over the last week to raise awareness of the need for diversity and inclusion across all industries. When we started working on the i’mPART initiative 3 years ago we could not have imagined the support and enthusiasm we would receive from our industry.
We are humbled to be leading this campaign and working as a core aggregator of the industry’s top leaders to pave the way for a more inclusive future. As the campaign comes to a close today, we’d like to ask you to please make one last show of support by changing your social media profile pictures and using #imPARTofDIVERSITY to share the message over your social channels.
Participation is simple:
1)Visit https://makesnaps.com/imPARTofDIVERSITY to create an image that you can use to update your Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and/or Instagram profile pictures with a simple overlay. Upload or take a photo with your computer/mobile device, apply the overlay, save, and then upload to your social profiles.
2) Post/Tweet/Share why diversity is important to you and use the #imPARTofDIVERSITY hashtag. Please include the website link so that other people can make their own pictures! A sample tweet you can use is:
3) Make sure to upload your new profile picture with the overlay onto your social media profiles so everyone can see that you, too, are a part of this important movement.
QUICK TIPS- If you have issues with the share options on the website, you can bypass and go directly to your downloadable image by pressing the “Skip” button at the bottom of your image (Or in the bottom right corner of your screen if you’re on a mobile device). This app also works best in the Google Chrome browser.
We believe that diversity isn’t just a number or a percentage. It isn’t just race, creed gender or sexual orientation. Diversity isn’t a box to check or “the right thing to do.” Diversity IS inclusion, variety and different perspectives. And TOGETHER, we can create a real and lasting change. Will you stand with us?
